Antique Victorian 14k yellow gold Jabot sword pin decorated with light robins egg blue enamel done in the Cloisonné technique.
A jabot pin is a brooch with a decorative motif at either end, and was pinned in such a way that only the decorative ends were seen. They were originally used to secure the ruffled or lace piece of fabric (the Jabot) that men wore on the front of their shirts.

Wings are ornamented in bright shades of red, blues, pink, coral, and purple done in the plique-à-jour (translucent enamel) technique. The articulated moving wings are so finely made that they are able to stand in place on their own. Our hearts fluttered when this special specimen flew into the store!
Singed 'Birks' and dates from the 1970's. Enamel work is in impeccable condition.
