Founded in 1775 by John Aynsley, Aynsley china has been one of the most influential companies in the British tableware industry for centuries. Known for their elaborate, unique designs and meticulous craftsmanship. As the company began to rise in popularity Queen Victoria herself commissioned Aynsley China to produce a set of tableware for her own personal use. Having a personal commission from Her Royal Majesty, allowed them to use the royal family seal in its logo, confirming the company’s reputation, and place in dinnerware history. Despite the shift in today’s china making process, little has changed in their production techniques which remain similar to those used when the company started.
Lovely classical Greek/Roman style urn bud vase with gold curlicue handles. Part of the 'Orchard Gold' collection this vase is beautifully decorated with colorful fruit and gold accents. Edges of rim are scalloped in gold. Transfer printed with hand painted embellishments and, signed 'N. Brunt' (Nancy Brunt - active 1935-1975). This pattern has been discontinued, thus very sought after.

Accéder a page de ce produit →Recovered from the bottom of the Strait of Malacca comes this exceptional hand-painted Chinese blue and white tureen, cover, and stand. Oblong octagonal shape with hare-head handles, helmet finials, and painted with landscapes, pavilions, and triple-arched bridge. All three pieces have a washed blue trellis pattern border.
"The Diana" was owned by Palmer and Co. a powerful Calcutta ship owner and was licensed by the English East India Company to sail from Calcutta or Madras to Canton. Unfortunately on the 4th of March 1817 The Diana stuck rocks off the Straits of Malacca and sank to the depths of the ocean floor. Along with her 24,000 pieces intended for sale were lost for 177 years.
The wreck was identified and recovered in 1994 By Dorian Ball of Malaysian Historical Salvors and the porcelain was auctioned by Christie's in Amsterdam in March 1995.

Both figures are decorated with traditional Chinese sacred symbols such as the lotus flower representing purity and elegance, the cherry blossom representing good fortune, and the 'Shou' symbol representing longevity.

Dating back to the 19th century, the 'Old Imari' collection is the definition of opulence. Handcrafted in England in bone china and finished in 22CT gold. Hand-painted in cobalt blue and red on white base and finely detailed the paneled floral pattern is influenced by Japanese floral motifs.
