Signed David-Andersen solid sterling silver modernist brooch with exceptional yellow enamel work. This brooch was apart of their iconic 1960's Viking series designed by Bjørn Sigurd Østern.
Founded in 1876 David-Andersen founded his own silverware and jewelry company in Oslo, Norway. Known for his craftsmanship, from the beginning experimented with enamel decoration and modernist designs. The company gained international recognition when they won two gold medals at the World Exhibition in 1900.

Wings are ornamented in bright shades of red, blues, pink, coral, and purple done in the plique-à-jour (translucent enamel) technique. The articulated moving wings are so finely made that they are able to stand in place on their own. Our hearts fluttered when this special specimen flew into the store!
Singed 'Birks' and dates from the 1970's. Enamel work is in impeccable condition.

This Rose trembler ('En Tremblant') has 18k moving mesh petals on hinges with four (4) different inserts set with diamonds, rubies, emeralds and sapphires. The piece is in spectacular condition with all moving parts working very well.
