Delightful antique Old European cut diamond 18k yellow gold belcher ring.
The belcher style setting which were all the rage during the Victorian period, whereby the claw-like prongs are carved out of the mounting.
The name belcher originates from Dandy Jem Belcher, an English boxing champion between 1800 and 1805, who was known to sport a ring with huge prongs.
