Micro-mosaics are a type of mosaics comprised of tiny fragments of glass called tesserae, hand arranged on a copper or gold tray to create a scene, portrait, or landscape. The process is extremely laborious and a painstaking skill.

Wings are ornamented in bright shades of red, blues, pink, coral, and purple done in the plique-à-jour (translucent enamel) technique. The articulated moving wings are so finely made that they are able to stand in place on their own. Our hearts fluttered when this special specimen flew into the store!
Singed 'Birks' and dates from the 1970's. Enamel work is in impeccable condition.
