'Bakelite' is a variety of moldable plastic that was invented by Leo Bakeland in 1909. It was the first plastic made from synthetic components. Bakelite jewelry is very sought after amongst many jewelry collectors today.
This fabulous necklace is comprised of alternating graduated oval carved marbled spinach green Bakelite beads, faceted amethyst rondels and black glass beads.
